In the Indian automobile space, the demand for SUVs has drastically increased and a majority of its sale is fetched by its compact segment. Ford was the first automaker that brought in the compact SUV segment in the Indian market. Ford Ecosport started the trend in India. Later, Maruti Suzuki took over the game and dominated the compact SUV segment market. It’s Vitara Brezza outperformed other players and fetched a huge volume of demand. And now to compete, it is Tata’s new vehicle coming—Tata Nexon. The specification of Tata Nexon was disclosed earlier but now it is officially revealed by the company along with the accessories.
The overall ergonomics isn’t a typical box type. The interiors of the vehicles are designed with many premium features. To give a copious look Tata has tried hard to craft the interiors with exclusive cabin looks and quality of materials that are used in Tigor and Tiago.
Starting with the entertainment side, Tata Nexon is fitted with a 6.5 Inch touchscreen display on the dashboard. It is the same system that can be found in Mercedes-Benz GLA. The system comes from the renowned sound system maker Harman and Tata Nexon will feature eight speakers; it is also one of the top-specs of the car. In terms of standard connectivity functions, there is AUX, USB, and smartphone connection through Apple Car Play and Android Auto.
The console integrated with the center extends all the way to the floor and has a gear lever with drive-mode. The compact SUV comes in three driving modes, City, Eco, and Sport. Coming on to the power plant, the Tata Nexon will be powered by 1.5 Liter turbocharged diesel and 1.2 Liter Revotron engine that is already seen in Tata Bolt. Both the engines are mated with a 6-speed gear transmission. The power generation parameter varies based on the type of engine and depends on the mode.
The Nexon will be soon introduced in August and will come out of the company’s garage to compete with existing vehicles such as Maruti Vitara Brezza, Honda W-RV, and Ford Ecosport. Comparing the vehicles based on the diesel engine, Tata Nexon has loads of potential to uphold the sales in the market.
