Available job roles and campus placements for engineering college students are going through a huge alteration provided the fact of appearance of a range of new techs that are upsetting each segment.
The rising demand for jobs in artificial intelligence (AI), analytics and big data, digital marketing, machine learning, and software & mobile development, is forcing firms to provide these roles to those student passing out of college. These were jobs that were previously provided mainly to midlevel experts.
There were almost 12,000 jobs on hand in India for freshers in each of these skill groups at the time of the one year concluded on August 31, 2017, as per data collected by Simplilearn, the online education provider, from job platforms. The numbers are around 2x more that for jobs in quality management, cloud computing, and IT services, which were the top roles earlier.
“These figures are a mixture of what we have witnessed and the information collected from our job listing websites and own platform such as Indeed and Naukri. We glanced at skills that segments have been speaking of,” claimed chief business officer at Simplilearn, Kashyap Dalal, to the media in an interview. Dalal claimed that the biggest companies of these skills are the leading giants in the banking, financial services & insurance (BFSI) and IT services segment. But just about every firm, which has recognized that these skills are necessary to serve and understand user better, are employing for these jobs. These comprise the most MNCs with R&D and engineering centers in the country, and the swing of fresh retail MNCs making an entry to click into engineering talent of India. “I am witnessing firms such as Samsung foisting to colleges such as IITs and BITS to employ for these jobs,” claimed co founder at employing firm Belong, Rishabh Kaul, to the media in an interview.
CTO and co-founder of HackerRank, Harishankaran K, claims that each single firm that they work for, comprising startups, is making an attempt to employ for these roles. HackerRank conducts recruitment trails on campuses for most of the product firms, including Flipkart and Adobe.###
